OUR STORY
We named our first product Violet as a tribute to co-founder Rene Bharti’s daughter, who was conceived via IVF and inspired the mission of Future Fertility.
When Rene and his wife Paulina were in treatment, they embraced all technology available to increase their odds of success. But they discovered a major gap: there was no way to evaluate the quality of their eggs, despite how crucial oocyte health is for pregnancy. Embryos and sperm get graded—why not eggs?
Forward-thinking reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Dan Nayot also recognized this need and saw promise in the growing use of artificial intelligence in healthcare. With his medical and mathematics expertise, Dr. Nayot knew that visual machine-learning could evaluate eggs in a way that the human eye can’t. Paired with Rene’s background in solutions-oriented tech, the two set out to fill this critical void in fertility treatment.
What started as a clinical need soon became a passionate research project and, in 2018, the first tool to use artificial intelligence to score egg quality. Together, Rene and Dr. Nayot created a science-backed solution to empower patients, doctors, and embryologists around the world.

One of North America’s leading reproductive endocrinologists, Dr. Nayot is committed to innovation and data-driven research to optimize the patient experience and expand access to fertility care. In furthering the field, he’s been awarded research grants, authored scientific papers, presented at international medical conferences, and continues to review esteemed fertility scientific journals. With Future Fertility, he brings his extensive knowledge in medicine and mathematics together to solve the gaps he has experienced in over a decade of clinical practice.

A leader in emerging technologies, Alex spent the past five years helping early-stage ventures with R&D, strategy, software architecture and execution. He previously led the development of a proprietary software/hardware platform for high-quality two-way internet streaming of live events, and also played a key role in developing an interactive proximity marketing solution that includes proximity detection, body tracking and facial recognition. For Future Fertility, Alex harnesses his extensive knowledge of computer vision and machine learning to develop industry-leading technology.

Brian brings more than a decade of financial expertise to the CFO role and has spent the past five years working directly with start-ups to fundraise and scale their operations. Prior to entering the start-up ecosystem, Brian worked as a banker and consultant at CIBC and KPMG.

With a long-held passion for innovative ART technologies that improve the fertility journey and IVF outcomes, Jullin started her fertility career at a Canadian IVF clinic in 2006 and quickly advanced to senior embryologist and laboratory director. Today, she works closely with our partnering clinics to ensure smooth onboarding of our technology within their labs. She also oversees our scientific project collaborations and brings our research findings to international IVF conferences.

Her experience includes investment banking and private-equity investing in the healthcare sector, and she has over two years’ experience in business strategy and operations in women’s health and fertility.

With over a decade in the digital health field, MJ’s work has focused on improving access to quality care in Canada and internationally. From her experience launching, validating, and scaling a range of digital health products in both public and private sectors, she has developed a deep understanding of the perspectives of healthcare professionals and their patients—and how to create meaningful change. At Future Fertility, MJ leads the product team in bringing value-driven solutions that improve fertility care for patients, embryologists, and clinicians.
